Reminder (homework from our last meeting): Teach the new signal in a real class. Take a photo of the Rules written on your whiteboard. Caption: "My signal was [Name]. It worked/didn't work because..."


MANAGING THE LESSON: WEEK 2


👥 ATTENDANCE: Mandatory for All Teachers.

📍 FOCUS: Controlling energy levels before recording videos.


At the start of the meeting a facilitator is chosen from among people who haven't been a facilitator recently (going around the group in-turn style).


📋 THE WORKSHOP PLAN (90 Minutes)

1. REVIEW & INPUT (0-20 mins)

  • Facilitator: Ask: "Did the non-verbal signal work last week?" Record a quick video discussing this between ALL teachers (stop only once everyone had a chance to speak).

  • Read: Open the Stirrers and Settlers Article on the TV and distribute the printouts among everyone to make sure everyone has the article before them.

  • Define and discuss: Stirrer (Wakes them up) vs. Settler (Calms them down).

2. THE WORKSHOP: ENERGY LINE (20-60 mins)

  • Draw: A different facilitator draws a lesson timeline on the board (stick to what is real in your classes): (for example) Warm up -> Game (or) Main Objective -> [DANGER ZONE] -> Camera Presentation

  • Identify: Agree that the "Danger Zone" is where students are too crazy to present (true or not?)

  • Design: In pairs, choose One Settler Activity to use exactly at the "Danger Zone" in your classes with your students.

3. SCRIPTING (60-80 mins)

  • Write: Discuss and write the exact instructions for the some Settler ideas on the board.

    • Example: "Heads down. Close eyes. Whisper your sentence 3 times." (keep it simple if you are afraid your students won't understand you)

  • Act: (do in-turn as many as time allows) One teacher gives the instruction while others follow it.


✅ REQUIRED EVIDENCE (Zalo)

  • In-meeting: Post a video of one teacher giving the "Settler" instruction to the group, and the video of discussing how the previous topic worked.

  • Homework (Before next meeting): Use the Settler in class before a video task. Take a photo or video of the class doing it (from the back). Caption: "Used [Activity Name]. Result: Class was Calmer / Still Noisy."
