PLANNING LESSONS: WEEK 1

📋 THE WORKSHOP PLAN (90 Minutes)

1. THE REALITY CHECK (0-15 mins)

• Facilitator: Write on board: "Why do we often run out of time for the video presentation?"

• Action: Teachers discuss. (Answer: We focus on the start of the lesson, not the end).

• Concept: "Backward Design". You must plan the Ending (The Video) first.

2. INPUT: AIMS (15-40 mins)

• Read: Open "The basics of lesson planning". Read the section on Aims.

• Define: The Main Aim of every JYS lesson is: "Students will present [Topic] to the camera."

3. WORKSHOP: THE REVERSE PLAN (40-80 mins)

• Task: Choose a unit from a JYS textbook (e.g., "Animals").

• Step 1 (The End): Write the script for the final video FIRST. (e.g., "Hello, this is a Lion. It has big teeth.")

• Step 2 (The Middle): What words do they need to say that script? (Vocabulary).

• Step 3 (The Start): How do we introduce those words?

• Output: Write this "Reverse Plan" on the whiteboard.

✅ REQUIRED EVIDENCE (Zalo)

• In-Meeting: Video of the group explaining their "Reverse Plan" on the whiteboard.

• Homework: Plan your next lesson using "Backward Design". Write the Video Script before you teach. Take a photo of your plan and post it in the Zalo Teacher Training group.
