Giới thiệu về sự kiện
PLANNING LESSONS: WEEK 2
👥 ATTENDANCE: Mandatory for all full-time teachers.
📅 DATE: Tuesday, March 24, 2026 – 2:30 PM
📍 FOCUS: The JYS Lesson Skeleton – hard-coding the "Presentation Stage" into every lesson plan.
🔗 RESOURCES (Open in meeting)
- Article: The elements of a lesson plan
📋 THE WORKSHOP PLAN (90 Minutes)
0. SETUP & REVIEW (0–10 minutes)
- Choose a facilitator: Must be a NEW person (not the same as Week 1). If nobody volunteers, the person whose turn is next leads.
- Facilitator duties: Open resources on the TV. Keep time. Record evidence videos.
- Phone rule: Everyone puts phones away. Only the facilitator uses a phone (timer + camera).
- Review: Facilitator asks the group: "Who completed the Backward Design homework? Show us your photo." Quick 2-minute check.
1. INPUT: LESSON STAGES (10–30 minutes)
- Facilitator opens the article "The elements of a lesson plan" on the TV.
- Read the section about Aims, Concepts, and Contexts together.
- Discussion: "In Week 1, we learned the AIM of every JYS lesson is the video presentation. Now we need a STRUCTURE to make sure we always reach it."
- Introduce the Engage – Study – Activate framework from the article.
- JYS Rule: In our center, "Activate" ALWAYS means "Video Presentation." This is non-negotiable.
2. WORKSHOP: THE JYS SKELETON (30–75 minutes)
- Task: Design the Official JYS Lesson Template together on the whiteboard. It MUST include these time blocks:
0–10 min: ENGAGE (Warm-up / Stirrer – get students interested and speaking English).
10–40 min: STUDY (Input & Practice – teach vocabulary, grammar, sentences from the video script).
40–60 min: PREPARATION (The "Settler" from Module 1). Students draw/write on mini-whiteboards or notebooks to prepare their presentation.
60–80 min: ACTIVATE (Camera Time). Recording the presentations. THIS STARTS AT MINUTE 60. NO EXCEPTIONS.
80–90 min: FEEDBACK (Teacher writes corrections from the Hot Notebook on the board. Optional: short reward game).
- Practice activity: Each teacher brings a lesson plan they used recently (or chooses a textbook unit they will teach this week). Rewrite it to fit the JYS Skeleton by filling in the time blocks. If you don't have a plan, use the textbook unit you chose in Week 1.
- Write the rewritten plan on the whiteboard.
3. EVIDENCE (75–90 minutes)
✅ REQUIRED EVIDENCE (Zalo)
IN-MEETING VIDEO:
- Task: One teacher stands by the whiteboard and explains the JYS Skeleton, pointing at each time block. Another teacher explains the "Minute 60 Rule" – camera recording must start at minute 60.
- Post to: JYS Teacher Training group.
- Caption: "Planning lessons, Week 2. The JYS Lesson Skeleton."
- Deadline: Before leaving the room.
HOMEWORK (Classroom application):
- Task: Teach one of your real classes this week using the exact JYS Skeleton.
- Photo: Take a photo of your written lesson plan showing the time blocks, AND a photo of your classroom whiteboard at the 40-minute mark (the board must show students' preparation work starting).
- Post to: JYS Teacher Training group.
- Caption: "Class: [Name]. Unit: [Name]. Camera recording started at: [Time]."
- Deadline: 10 minutes after your chosen lesson finishes.
